Read this to learn about asteroid impacts with Earth. Look for impacts that scientists know of in the past, what might happen if a large asteroid collided with the our planet, and look for what some say are solutions to help prevent or prepare for such an impact.

Afterwards, you’ll post a 3-2-1 summary of the article in a comment on this post:) Peace, love, and monkeys.

Wednesday Wackiness

Written on October 9, 2007 – 6:57 pm | by jhtsheets

Hey, ya’ll. I think I’ll just make the resource lab my classroom until they fix my a/c. What do you think?

Anyhoo, here’s your assignment for today. We started the article about stem cells on Monday. Overall, you did a really good job and your test scores are rising as we speak.  Let’s keep it up, okay.  Today, I want you to finish reading the article. We saw the other day the GREAT THINGS that stem cells could do.  But did you know there are laws restricting their use in research and medicine? How could something that could cure cancer be a bad thing?

1. Read the rest of the article to find out what all the fuss is about.

2. Post a comment to this blog that a)mentions two things from the article that you didn’t know before you read it or that you find especially interesting and b)states your opinion on the matter. Remember to read and write carefully. Don’t forget to tell us who you are:)

Here’s the link to the article, yo:
